Getting VMware terminology straight
VMware terms can be tricky because virtualization relies on a lot of acronyms as well as jargon that VMware introduced. IT pros new to VMware virtualization often need help with the terminology, and even veterans can run into a VMware-terminology roadblock when expanding into new areas of virtualization.
These slides will help dispel confusion around common VMware terms and acronyms. Beginners new to VMware will find basics defined, such as "hot add" and "resource pools." Server virtualization admins venturing into new areas -- network virtualization, private cloud -- will get help distinguishing new terms, such as "virtual data center" from "provider virtual data center."
