Nine Healthcare Orgs Join OCHIN Epic EHR Network to Drive Care Access

The OCHIN Epic EHR platform aims to meet the needs of community-based healthcare providers and enhance care access across underserved populations.

Eight ambulatory community healthcare organizations and one rural hospital implemented OCHIN Epic EHR systems in the last quarter of 2023 to enhance care access and streamline clinical workflows.

The new members join OCHIN's growing network of over 5.5 million patients across 2,000 healthcare delivery sites nationwide.

  • Harmony Health Medical Clinic in Marysville, CA
  • United Community Health Center in Storm Lake, IA

  • Siouxland Community Health Center in Sioux City, IA
  • Infinity Health in Leon, IA
  • Jewish Community Free Clinic in Santa Rosa, CA

OCHIN Epic Acute go-lives last quarter include:

  • Burnett Medical Center in Grantsburg, Wisconsin

"By working with the OCHIN team to implement OCHIN Epic and with the support of our many dedicated volunteers, we have been able to provide our community with true equitable access to care," Deborah A. Roberts, director of clinical services at the Jewish Community Free Clinic, said in a press release.

Orthopedic Surgical Practice Selects athenaOne EHR for Patient Experience

New England Orthopedic Surgeons (NEOS) is implementing athenaOne, athenahealth's cloud-based suite of integrated EHR, revenue cycle management, and patient engagement solutions.

The deployment is set to support the practice's continued growth and enhance patient-centered care.

"Our IT decision-makers and clinicians selected athenahealth out of a number of solution providers due to its long-standing reputation in the orthopedic community, commitment to customer success, and what the company delivers in terms of functionality and value for the price," Anthony Rino, executive director at NEOS, noted in a public statement.

"Our goal was to find one integrated, innovative solution to transform the patient experience while at the same time increasing efficiencies, improving our claims process, and allowing us to recoup money a little more quickly. athenahealth is the partner that was best positioned to help us accomplish all those goals," Rino added.

Illinois-Based Orthopaedic Center Taps eCW EHR to Streamline Workflows

Premier Orthopaedic and Hand Center has selected a cloud-based EHR implementation from eClinicalWorks to improve patient care delivery and alleviate administrative burdens.

The eClinicalWorks V12 EHR platform includes access to eClinicalWorks Scribe, which combines advanced health IT with AI-based voice-recognition software to streamline clinical documentation.

 "eClinicalWorks V12 offers increased flexibility and usability with advanced features like the floating toolbar, intuitive search capabilities, and keyboard shortcuts to make finding patient information efficient," Michael Palm, chief operation officer at Premier Orthopaedic and Hand Center, said in a press release.

"Scribe is very cost-efficient for our center; it offers our providers the flexibility to generate accurate and comprehensive progress notes with speech-to-text software, helping them save time," he said. "Also, the healow patient engagement solutions will allow our providers and staff to save time on scheduling or routine follow-ups and spend more time with patients, leading to greater patient satisfaction."

The practice will also have access to eClinicalMessenger, a tool that sends automated health reminders to save clinicians time and enhance patient-centered care.
