Nintex launches no-code workflow automation tool

Nintex has launched a no-code workflow automation tool, Workflow Generator, in an effort to bridge the gap between IT departments and process experts.

Nintex has launched Nintex Workflow Generator, a platform designed to enable users to create workflows using the company's cloud-based visual mapping tool, Nintex Promapp. The Workflow Generator does not require coding and is currently available to customers and partners with subscriptions to Nintex Promapp and Nintex Workflow Cloud.

According to Nintex, the goal of the Workflow Generator is to bridge the gap between IT departments with automation expertise and employees with departmental process knowledge. The workflow automation tool uses natural language processing, and enables process experts to use Promapp to document a process, and then click "request automation" to create a draft workflow and alert the IT department.

Additionally, the natural language processing engine uses feedback loops to work on improving the accuracy with which it aligns process descriptions to standard workflow actions.

Workflow automation isn't new to Nintex. As reported by SearchEnterpriseDesktop in 2018, the Los Angeles Superior Court began using Nintex's Forms and Workflow products in an effort to streamline processes such as dealing with letters of complaint from the public.

Workflow automation continues to be an important step for content management. Last year, Box acquired Progressly in an effort to improve its workflow automation. It also partnered with IBM to create the Box Relay workflow automation tool. Other vendors such as Oracle, Pegasystems, Software AG and Appian also offer workflow automation software.

According to MarketWatch, the global workflow automation market is valued at $5.22 billion as of last December, and is expected to reach $29.8 billion by 2026. It is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 21.4% in that time.

This is the latest release from Nintex this summer. In July, Nintex made Nintex Sign powered by Adobe available for SharePoint users, and in August it updated its Nintex Forms platform to include more capabilities.
