What to expect at AWS re:Invent 2018
AWS re:Invent, the largest cloud conference in the world, will once again descend upon Las Vegas this November.
Much like the AWS platform itself, the weeklong conference is expansive. There will be thousands of sessions where attendees can learn more about AWS cloud technology, regardless of their familiarity with the platform. And there will be something for just about everyone who's interested in cloud, whether a developer, data scientist, admin, security expert or CTO.
More than 40,000 people attended the AWS conference in 2017. The show gets bigger every year, and there's no reason to expect this trend will not continue. And, just like last year, the so-called re:Invent campus will extend across a considerable portion of the Las Vegas Strip, with sessions spread across seven venues.
AWS rolls out scores of services and upgrades over the course of the year, but that kicks into overdrive at re:Invent. The cloud provider is famously tight-lipped about its roadmap, but it's a safe bet that users will hear about updates to its core compute, storage and networking services, as well as forays into IoT, artificial intelligence, security and hybrid cloud.
This handbook will help you prepare for the annual AWS conference. Before you head to Vegas, check out a list of sessions geared toward enterprise users, expert predictions on which new services will emerge from the show and insights into the technology gaps AWS still needs to address in its platform.
