TechTarget, Inc. (the “Company”) has self-certified to the U.S. Department of Commerce that it complies with the E.U.-U.S. Privacy Shield (the “Privacy Shield”) regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information of its users who reside in European Union (“EU”) member states. The Company has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles of notice, choice, security, data integrity and purpose limitation, access, accountability onward transfer of data, and recourse, enforcement and liability. The Company has issued these Complaint Procedures (the “Procedures”) for its members residing in the European Union (“EU Members”) to explain how the Company handles complaints regarding the use of personal data of its Members.
TechTarget is dedicated to resolving all Member complaints regarding use of a Member’s personal information as quickly and efficiently as possible. Should a Member wish to raise a complaint regarding the Company’s handling of such Member’s personal data, the Member should:
- Submit his or her complaint to TechTarget, including any specific details that are relevant to resolving the complaint, by completing and submitting the complaint form found here.
- TechTarget will respond to all complaints submitted pursuant to the mechanisms described above regarding a Member’s personal information within 45 days of receipt of the complaint.
- TechTarget will not address any complaints that are unfounded or frivolous, or that otherwise fall outside the scope of this complaint process.
- Complaints submitted pursuant to the process described above will be handled in compliance with these Complaint Handling Procedures.
- If TechTarget, after full investigation of the complaint, determines that the complaint is valid, TechTarget will provide a resolution of the complaint to the Member that is in conformity with the Privacy Shield principles and, where appropriate, the processing of personal data of the Member who submitted the complaint will cease.
- Should a Member determine that his or her complaint has not been resolved by TechTarget directly via the mechanism described above, such Member may bring a complaint before JAMS. Information about how to file a complaint before JAMS is available here. This service is provided at no cost to the Member.
For purposes of these Procedures, Personal Data or Personal Information means data about an individual that is within the scope of the EU Directive, including any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person; an identifiable person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to one or more factors specific to his physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.
