Technology media company TechTarget, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTGT) today announced the results of their 2014 Embedded BI: Uses, Trends, Best Practices Benchmark Study. Now available for sponsorship, this in-depth study examines why and how organizations embed BI into their applications. The report features responses from over 1,800 worldwide independent software providers (BI and non-BI vendors) and end-user organizations that have embedded BI into a product or an application.
Led by Wayne Eckerson, Principal Consultant, Eckerson Group, the study helps information management pros, technology providers and industry observers understand the current buying habits, adoption rate and future growth trends of the embedded BI market.
Key Report Findings
According to the survey results, 84% of vendors view embedded BI as the next major trend in the already explosive analytics market. Almost half (45%) indicate that the embedded BI market is a “very strategic” initiative to their company’s future. Additionally, most vendors agree that in three years, 75% of their company’s revenue will come from the sale of embedded BI tools.
“Organizations are realizing the full potential of embedded analytics. In recent years, BI tools have become easier to use and have continually provided insights into business events as they happen. Embedded BI allows organizations to transform analytics from sets of standalone products to enterprise services that make BI easier to use and more pervasive,” said Eckerson. “This is why most vendors predicted that in three years the vast majority of their revenue will come from the sale of embedded BI tools. There is a huge need for embedded BI in the current market with the promise of inevitable growth of this type of analytics intelligence in the future,” continued Eckerson.
