Klas reports on pharmacy purchasing optimization analytics solutions

The report looked at various digital solutions for pharmacy purchasing optimization analytics solutions, assessing customer satisfaction with vendors.

Klas's research analyzed customers’ satisfaction with their pharmacy purchasing optimization analytics solution to understand how customers feel about their vendors and the factors that dictate vendor satisfaction.

According to the report, most customers are highly satisfied with their vendors and the solutions they offer. One of the primary factors driving use and satisfaction is the perception that pharmacy purchasing optimization analytics solutions provide a significant return on investment (ROI) in identifying savings opportunities.

Among the vendors analyzed, QuicksortRx customers had the highest overall satisfaction. When asked about their confidence in the accuracy of reported savings, ten respondents reported feeling highly confident, while three reported feeling confident, which indicated a greater confidence compared to other vendors.

For example, only two SpendMend Trulla respondents were highly confident in the accuracy of reported savings, while five reported feeling confident. Additionally, four respondents for Bluesight CostCheck were highly confident; one respondent was confident, one was neutral, and one was unconfident.

“As purchasing optimization is still a fairly new and developing area, interviewed customers across the board feel their vendor is making large investments in solution development,” noted the report.

In particular, SpendMend Trulla’s customers are the most satisfied with the delivery of new technology, with an average satisfaction score of 8.8 on a scale of 1–9. Additionally, respondents for this vendor highlighted the solution’s ease of use and broad adoption of capabilities. Additionally, respondents seem to have a positive experience with the solution as it is tailored to the customers’ feedback. Despite these positive outcomes, some respondents believe SpendMend Trulla could expand its purchasing channels.

QuicksortRx scored an 8.2 on the satisfaction scale for delivering new technology. Customers cited wholesaler integration, functionality, and visibility as the most significant benefits of this solution. However, customers are looking for more distributor–supplier integrations.

Bluesight CostCheck respondents reported a 7.6 on the satisfaction scale for delivering new technology. Primary benefits included ease of use and integration with three wholesalers; however, they are hoping for increased automation as the tool develops.

Finally, the report looks at vendor engagement with customers as a satisfaction factor. According to the data, QuicksortRx and SpendMend Trulla offer the most proactive services and best customer relationships.
