Labcorp Global Trial Connect offers tools for clinical trials

The tool is marketed as a suite of central laboratory solutions for investigator sites, which should accelerate the speed of trials.

On June 17, 2024, Labcorp launched Labcorp Global Trial Connect, a tool to accelerate clinical trials at investigator sites. The tool aims to address the challenges associated with the time it takes to conduct and execute clinical trials.

According to the press release, this suite of tools, which includes digital and data solutions, will be available to existing Labcorp Central Laboratory clients as they start, maintain, and enhance their clinical trial outputs.

One capability includes site enablement resources that offer tools for identifying new study opportunities, expanding patient access, and supporting diverse recruitment. The program hopes to enhance site enablement through diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) support, patient recruitment services, patient access support, and hybrid clinical trial support.

Additionally, the program will offer supply readiness support to mitigate trial delays, reduce waste, and enhance study startup efficiencies.

Beyond that, the suite of solutions will also provide tools for site workflow facilitation that integrate sample collection and tracking data for improved visibility throughout the clinical trial process and provide analytics data for the sites and sponsors. As part of this initiative, the company will include the following tools:

  • eRequisitions and sample tracking to provide visibility and minimize queries
  • Sample logistics coordination for on-time delivery of samples and results for timely patient management

Finally, Labcorp will provide its clients with study management and investigator support, including 24/7 site support and on-demand tools and training.

"The patient–investigator–biopharma sponsor relationship is at the foundation of a successful clinical trial. Global Trial Connect simplifies the investigator workflow, improves the patient experience, and ultimately enables biopharma sponsors to bring therapies to market faster," said Jon DiVincenzo, EVP and President of Central Laboratories and International at Labcorp, in the press release.  "As the world's leading central laboratory, Labcorp is dedicated to improving the pace of clinical trials focusing on the investigator site experience from study initiation to patient recruitment and data collection."

In addition to the tools included in this launch, Labcorp expects to offer help with study preparation, patient visits, and post-visit management.
