Hartford HealthCare, Google Cloud Launch Data Analytics Partnership
Hartford HealthCare is partnering with Google Cloud to accelerate the health system’s digital transformation, data analytics, and advance access to care for its patients.
Hartford HealthCare announced a long-term partnership with Google Cloud to advance the health system’s digital transformation, improve data analytics, and enhance care delivery and access.
According to the press release, the two organizations will work together to unlock the potential of Hartford HealthCare’s patient data, which is often difficult to access and utilize because it is unstructured or hard to find in increasingly complex EHRs.
To address this, the health system will use Google Cloud’s Healthcare Data Engine (HDE) and HDE accelerators, which leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), to make its healthcare data more accessible and actionable. The press release states that Hartford HealthCare will also use Contact Center AI and other Google Cloud offerings to enhance digital patient engagement, care delivery, and access.
“Creating world-class care requires world-class partners. We are exceptionally proud to stand with Google Cloud and work together to make seamless, personalized care a reality for patients,” said Jeffrey A. Flaks, president and CEO of Hartford HealthCare, in the press release. “With Google Cloud’s technology, Hartford HealthCare will adopt better digital solutions that make care accessible for all.”
The health system’s digital transformation has five goals: increasing access to care by personalizing patient experiences, anticipating patient needs, and ensuring that care is one click or call away; empowering clinicians with data-driven insights, tools, and contextually relevant information about each patient; enhancing health outcomes for all using data; accelerating health innovation and using insights to guide research; and recovering valuable time for caregivers by increasing the accuracy and speed of data needed for clinical decision making.
“Google Cloud recognizes Hartford HealthCare’s work to be a pace leader in healthcare and we are excited to collaborate to solve the industry’s greatest challenges, including access to care,” said Aashima Gupta, global director for healthcare strategy and solutions for Google Cloud, in the press release. “It is our shared vision to work together to identify the talents, tools, technologies, and solutions that are needed to deliver a new paradigm of health and wellness delivery. This work will bring together Hartford HealthCare’s excellence in patient care with Google Cloud’s machine learning and AI capabilities to unlock the truly transformative power of interoperable longitudinal patient records.”
The launch of this partnership follows several moves by Google Cloud to improve data analytics in healthcare.
Last week at HLTH 2022, Google Cloud announced three new Healthcare Data Engine (HDE) accelerators, created in collaboration with Hackensack Meridian Health, Lifepoint Health, and other organizations to improve health equity, patient flow, and value-based care.
These accelerators are designed to enhance interoperability and data unification across health systems by offering tailored infrastructure deployment solutions, data models, and dashboard templates to bolster the adoption and time-to-value of HDEs. The three HDE accelerators will become available in early 2023.
