TN Health System Leverages Data Analytics to Advance Value-Based Care
Matter Health and Ursa Health have launched a partnership to use data analytics to advance value-based primary care delivery and population health.
Tennessee-based primary care provider group Matter Health has launched a partnership with healthcare data analytics company Ursa Health, under which the health system will leverage the company’s analytics development platform to improve value-based care delivery and population health.
Matter Health provides location-based health solutions for the senior community in the Nashville area to remove barriers to high-quality healthcare. Under this value-based care delivery model, clinics and care teams are placed within senior living and other facilities, which allows caregivers to better address preventative, urgent, and primary care needs and enables patients to have greater control over their healthcare journeys.
“We believe that our model of providing world-class, interdisciplinary care ‘steps from home’ is a leap forward in primary care for the people who need it most,” explained Mason Mercy, chief executive officer at Matter Health, in the press release.
“Ursa Health understands exactly what we’re trying to accomplish,” he continued. “They are the right analytics partner and will help us better understand our population’s healthcare spending and utilization, which in turn enables us to optimize our performance and provide better care to those we serve. Ursa Studio, with its comprehensive tooling and ease of customization, will help us quickly get the information we need to better serve our population, while the platform can also evolve as we do.”
Under the collaboration, Matter Health will leverage Ursa Studio, Ursa Health’s analytics development platform. Ursa Studio is a no-code platform that allows health systems to develop various types of healthcare-specific analytics infrastructure, including raw data ingestion and integration, data modeling, analytics development, and business intelligence.
The press release further noted that Matter Health will gain access to the Ursa Health Population Health Foundations Module, which is designed to evaluate performance across areas such as financials and utilization. The module features data marts that contain key patient features and risk factors specific to particular issues or subject areas, such as socioeconomic deprivation, chronic disease burden, primary care provider attribution, and plan membership status.
This partnership is one in a recent string of data analytics partnerships undertaken by health systems.
Last week, Hartford HealthCare launched a long-term partnership with Google Cloud to advance the health system’s digital transformation, improve data analytics, and enhance care delivery and access. The two organizations will work together to unlock the potential of Hartford HealthCare’s patient data and enhance digital patient engagement using Google Cloud’s artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions, including its Healthcare Data Engine (HDE), HDE accelerators, and Contact Center AI.
