Cisco Live! returned to Las Vegas on June 12-16. Getting back to in-person events has been refreshing and seeing remote colleagues and friends for the first time in a long while at this event was invaluable.
The event kicked off with Chuck Robbins, CEO of Cisco, discussing how Cisco is aiming to reimagine applications, power hybrid work, secure the enterprise, and transform infrastructure. Chuck’s messaging around reimagining applications means we need to rethink our approach to security and infrastructure, as well as how to deliver them in a way that ensures an organization’s success.
There was a lot of information to unpack and I covered this data in my TechTarget article titled “Cisco Live highlights network observability, the metaverse”
But the keynote presentation went on to highlight how Cisco is simplifying and innovating modern, cloud-native observability with AppDynamic Cloud. Cloud-based platforms that provide a unified experience leveraging Meraki dashboard, Nexus cloud, and ThousandEyes WAN Insight were also expressed as a main focus area for the company. (You can learn more about these areas in my colleague blog posts – CiscoLive is Back). And don’t miss Antone Gonsalves’ coverage on ThousandEyes and cloud management with Catalyst and Nexus switches.)
Wrapping up the event up, there was a lot to cover in a short time. My summary blog only covers a small portion of the information shared. I encourage you to read my fellow analysts Bob Laliberte‘s and Rob Strechay’s blogs as well for additional coverage.
