David McClelland is a lapsed IT professional turned technology journalist.
His IT career began in the mid-1990s in sub-zero machine rooms filling cavernous tape libraries with DLT 40/80 carts. Before long he escaped to warmer climes, travelling the world to consult on enterprise storage, data protection and business continuity.
David now writes and talks on technology, mobile, cyber security and consumer affairs for print and online titles including The Metro, TechRadar, Computer Weekly and International Business Times UK.
He is a resident consumer champion with BBC Rip Off Britain, a regular on ITV Good Morning Britain and BBC News Channel covering breaking consumer technology news, and reports on cyber crime and online safety for BBC Watchdog.
A popular event host and moderator David chairs tech conferences across the world as well as webinars across the internet.
