Alexander Bardell
Founder, SDAdvocate
Alexander Bardell is the founder of sustainability-focused consultancy, SDAdvocate, as well as being a consulting architect and programme manager with a background in IT strategy and architectural design.
His interest in IT sustainability started in 2006 when he joined the IBM House of Carbon initiative, which defined a simple methodology to heat map and address carbon usage across an organisation. The focus of the study was reduction of the organisational carbon footprint from the perspective of technology emissions and how technology would act as an enabler in the reduction of emissions.
After securing a senior IT specialist certification, Alex was invited to join the British Computer Society (BCS) where he was elected to the Green IT committee. Its objective is the promotion of sustainable practices within technology and the development of technologies to aid carbon dioxide reduction.
