Ajay Kulkarni

Ajay Kulkarni is the CEO and co-founder of TimescaleDB, developers of an open-source time-series database optimized for fast ingest and complex queries. TimescaleDB has been downloaded millions of times worldwide for powering mission-critical applications, including industrial data analysis, complex monitoring systems, operational data warehousing, financial risk management and geospatial asset tracking. The company is backed by top investors, including Benchmark, New Enterprise Associates and Two Sigma Ventures.

Ajay's previous startup was acquired in 2011 by GroupMe/Skype/Microsoft, and his past experience includes roles at Microsoft, Citigroup and several startups. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from MIT in computer science and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He is an avid runner and conscientiously maintains an up-to-date list of the top ice cream shops in NYC.
